We’re going to go over the top 10 WordPress hosting companies one by one and talk about the pros and cons for every single one of these companies. This means, by the end of this video, you’re going to know exactly which company you should go with to host your WordPress website.

Warning: only three of these companies are actually recommended as a host by WordPress themselves. So make sure to like this video because I spent a lot of time testing out all these different companies so that I can tell you which one is the best one. Let’s get started first with SiteGround.

The first advantage for SiteGround is they’re actually one of the three companies that’s recommended by WordPress themselves as a recommended host. The second pro is it’s very easy to set up a WordPress or a WooCommerce website using SiteGround as your host. I’ve done a number of tutorials on this channel showing you how you can set up your WordPress website in as little as four minutes. They also have very affordable pricing, though they are not the most affordable host. Singer, who I’ll be talking about later in this video, is actually the most affordable host and they’re really high quality as well. Cyclone is also very reliable, and they have fast servers. If you sign up with SiteGround, you also get a free SSL certificate. An SSL certificate ensures that all communications that happen via your website are secure. You especially need an SSL certificate if you’re planning on taking credit card payments or having passwords or doing anything where there needs to be protection for your users. Some hosting companies will actually charge you for an SSL certificate, but SiteGround gives it to you for free.

As far as cons for SiteGround, their pricing is mid-tier. They did recently lower their prices a bit, but normally their prices are quite a bit higher. Another significant con with SiteGround is they have pretty low plan limits. With their lowest plan, you can only have one website, you only get 10 gigabytes of web space, and you’re only allowed 10,000 monthly visits. This means if you’re planning on uploading a lot of images and videos to your website, SiteGround might not be the best option. They also have high renewal fees. SiteGround is also not available in every country. For instance, it’s not available in India. SiteGround used to be my favorite hosting company, but I recently changed who I would recommend as my favorite hosting company. I’m going to be sharing who that is later in this video. Throughout this video, I’ll be explaining terms like bandwidth, uptime, and page speed, and why they’re so important for you to know before you pay for hosting for the first time.

The second hosting company we’ll be talking about is Bluehost. Bluehost is also recommended by WordPress themselves, and it’s probably one of the most popular hosting companies. Because of that, it’s one of the most trusted hosting companies out there. In fact, the first time I ever purchased hosting, I bought it from Bluehost. But if I were to purchase WordPress hosting again today, knowing everything that I know, I would not choose Bluehost. You’ll get to why that is in just a minute. They do have relatively cheap plans. Part of the reason why they can offer such cheap plans is that they buy smaller hosting companies and aggregate them into this giant conglomerate of a company. However, the biggest problem with Bluehost is, I think, that they’re overpriced.

I’ve had numerous issues using Bluehost in the past, including very slow page speed. Page speed measures how fast your website loads when someone visits. In the past, when people would go to my website, it would take them five, six, seven seconds before my website would load. That might not seem like a long time, but if someone goes to your website and it’s not loading after a few seconds, many times they’ll just leave your site and move on to something else. This could cause lost sales and people never coming back to your website. Additionally, they have bad uptime. Uptime is the percentage of time your website is actually available. While no hosting company boasts 100% uptime (almost all companies have issues occasionally), most companies aim for around 99.99%. With Bluehost, I’ve had numerous issues regarding uptime. People would visit my site and find it not working, which has lost me thousands upon thousands of dollars in sales.

One of the biggest cons with Bluehost that no one talks about is that they became so popular because they were one of the first hosting companies to offer an affiliate program. This meant that people would create websites promoting Bluehost, causing them to be favored over other, possibly better, companies. Nowadays, pretty much every hosting company has an affiliate program. To make this video 100% unbiased, I signed up for the affiliate program for all of these hosting companies. I don’t care which one you use.

The third company we’re going to review is GoDaddy. There are not a lot of pros with GoDaddy. I genuinely don’t recommend using them. The one pro I could think of is that they do offer phone support. But there are numerous cons. First off, they are overpriced. GoDaddy spends a ton of money on marketing to entice people to purchase domain names. Their domain names are affordably priced, but they make money by upselling people to buy not just the domain name but also the hosting and many unnecessary extra features. Their plans and pricing don’t make sense, and the user interface for creating a website is confusing, to say the least. On top of all that, their support can be quite rude, and many people have reported negative experiences with GoDaddy support.

A2 Hosting is one of the fastest hosting providers. If you want a website that’s going to be super fast, A2 Hosting is a good option. They also have decent pricing for the kind of speeds they offer. A2 Hosting offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which most hosting companies don’t offer. If you’re not happy with their service, they’ll refund your money. As for the cons, A2 Hosting has pretty high renewal fees. This is something you need to keep in mind when you’re signing up. They might offer a low price upfront, but the renewal fees can be much higher. This is something most people don’t know about when they first sign up for hosting, so it’s crucial to keep this in mind.

The next hosting company is DreamHost. DreamHost is one of the three hosting companies recommended by WordPress themselves. This means they are very reliable. DreamHost also has a very intuitive and easy-to-use website builder. For the cons, DreamHost is not the most affordable option, and their support is not the best. Sometimes, it can take a long time to get a response from them. Another significant issue with DreamHost is they have pretty high renewal fees.

Next, we’ll be talking about Site5. The pros for Site5 are that they have an excellent user interface. It’s straightforward to set up a WordPress website with Site5. They also have affordable pricing. The cons are that their customer service is not the best, and they have high renewal fees.

HostGator is another popular hosting company. One of the pros for HostGator is that they offer monthly pricing. This means you don’t have to pay for a whole year upfront. They also offer a 45-day money-back guarantee. If you’re not happy with their service, you can get a refund. The cons are that they have high renewal fees, and they don’t offer the best support.

InMotion Hosting is a hosting company that offers a lot of features. They have a straightforward setup process, and their pricing is pretty reasonable. They also offer free website migration. If you already have a website hosted somewhere else, they’ll move it for free. The cons are that their customer service can be slow at times, and they have high renewal fees.

Namecheap is a hosting company that offers very affordable pricing. This is one of their biggest pros. They also offer free website migration. The cons are that they don’t offer the best support, and their uptime is not the best.

Finally, we have WPEngine. WPEngine is a premium hosting company, and they offer the best support in the industry. They also have very fast servers. The cons are that their pricing is quite high, and they don’t offer free website migration.
